Rafail Ostrovsky (born 1963) is a distinguished professor at UCLA, where he works in computer science and mathematics and is a leading researcher in algorithms and cryptography. He earned his Ph.D. from MIT in 1992, with the thesis “Software Protection and Simulation on Oblivious RAMs” under Silvio Micali. He has supervised students including Jonathan Katz. Ostrovsky serves on the editorial boards of several journals, including Algorithmica and the Journal of Cryptology, and sits on the editorial and advisory board of the International Journal of Information and Computer Security.
