BSFA Award for Best Artwork

The BSFA Award for Best Artwork is a yearly UK prize given by the British Science Fiction Association. It honors the best science fiction or fantasy artwork that first appeared in the previous calendar year, no matter where it was published. The ceremony is named for the year the works were published, even though the award is given the following year. The award began in 1980; before 1986 it was called Best Artist. Notable winner Jim Burns collected three Best Artist awards and later eleven Best Artwork awards. The current holder is Leo Nickolls for the cover of The Surviving Sky.
