Radstadion

Radstadion was a velodrome in Olympiapark, Munich, Germany. It hosted the track cycling events for the 1972 Summer Olympics. The wooden track was about 285.714 meters long and 7 meters wide, with banking that ranged from 11.56 to 48.32 degrees.

Built between 1970 and 1972, it opened in 1972 but closed in 2014 and was demolished in 2015 to make way for a new arena.

The new venue, SAP Garden, is a multi‑purpose arena that seats up to 12,500 and cost around 100 million euros. It is the home of EHC Red Bull München (ice hockey) and the Bayern Munich basketball team. Construction began in winter 2019, and the building was designed by Danish firm 3XN. The project is funded by Red Bull GmbH.
