De La Salle Green Archers basketball
The De La Salle Green Archers are the De La Salle University men's basketball team from Taft Avenue in Manila. They play in the UAAP, the country’s top college league, and wear green and white. The program started in the NCAA in 1924, where the Archers won five titles (1939, 1947, 1956, 1971, 1974). The team earned the nickname “Green Archers” around 1939–40 because reporters noted their sharp shooting. La Salle left the NCAA in 1981 after a violent game with rival Letran.
The Archers joined the UAAP in 1986 and have won 11 UAAP championships (1989, 1990, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2007, 2013, 2016, 2023, 2025). They hold the record for the most finals appearances (19) and the longest finals streak (nine straight from 1994 to 2002). They also won four consecutive UAAP titles from 1998 to 2001. Rivalries with Ateneo, UST, and FEU are a storied part of their history.
Their most recent crown came in 2025 (Season 88) after beating UP in a best-of-three series. The Green Archers also claimed three consecutive UAAP 3x3 titles starting in 2023 (2023, 2024, 2025). The current program is led by head coach Topex Robinson (since 2023), with Caloy Garcia as lead assistant and a team of assistants. The Archers are supported by patron Enrique K. Razon.
