Pontécoulant
Pontécoulant is a small rural commune in the Calvados department in Normandy, northwestern France. It’s part of the Suisse Normande area and includes the villages of Launay and Pontécoulant. The commune lies in the Condé-en-Normandie area and is within the Vire arrondissement. It covers about 12.38 square kilometers and sits at elevations from 98 to 245 meters.
As of 2023, 71 people live there, making it a sparsely populated area. The Druance river is the main watercourse. Pontécoulant is part of the Natura 2000 conservation area Bassin de la Druance, which spans 5,729 hectares and includes nine other communes. The area is managed by the Intercom de la Vire au Noireau intercommunal structure. The postal code is 14110 and the INSEE code is 14512. The mayor for 2023–2026 is Gislaine Marie.
