Chichagof Harbor is an inlet on the northeast coast of Attu Island in Alaska’s Aleutian Islands. It was named for Russian Admiral and explorer Vasily Chichagov. The harbor area included an Aleut village that was served by an American pastor and his wife. In World War II, it saw heavy fighting during the Battle of Attu as American forces recaptured the island from Japan, and later housed Battery B of the 42nd Coast Artillery Battalion.
