Lestidium

Lestidium is a genus of barracudinas, also known as pike smelt. It belongs to the family Paralepididae in the order Aulopiformes, class Actinopterygii, phylum Chordata, and kingdom Animalia. The genus was named by C. H. Gilbert in 1905, with Lestidium nudum as the type species. There are three recognized species in this genus, including Lestidium atlanticum, the Atlantic barracudina.
