Ploiești Art Museum, officially the Ion Ionescu-Quintus Prahova County Art Museum, is in Ploiești, Romania at 1 Independenței Boulevard. It began in 1931 as the Ploiești pinacotheca, thanks to local leaders Ion Ionescu-Quintus, architect Toma Socolescu and historian Dumitru Munteanu-Râmnic, with support from the city. The collection was evacuated during World War II and re-opened in 1955 as the Ploiești Art Museum. In 2005 it took its current name. The building, dating from 1885, was the home of banker Ghiță Ionescu and is listed as a historic monument. The museum holds Romanian art from the 19th and 20th centuries, with works by Anton Chladek, Sava Henția, Mișu Popp, Gheorghe Tattarescu, Theodor Aman, Ioan Andreescu, Nicolae Grigorescu, Ștefan Luchian, Theodor Pallady, Gheorghe Petrașcu, Ion Țuculescu, Frederic Storck, Oscar Han, Ion Jalea, Jean Alexandru Steriadi, Ștefan Popescu and other local artists. The current director is Florin Sicoie.
