Football West State Cup

The Belt Up Cup, for sponsorship reasons, is Western Australia’s main knockout soccer competition. It is organised by Football West and began in 1899. In 2024, about 69 teams took part across the state.

The Cup also serves as the qualifying rounds for the Australia Cup (formerly the FFA Cup). The two finalists earn a place in the Australia Cup Round of 32, joining Perth Glory FC from the A-League.

History: Western Australia has two historic major knockout cups. The Challenge Cup ran from 1903 to 1959 (later known as the Challenge Cup and Shield). The Charity Cup ran from 1903 to 1961 and was the premier WA cup before World War II. Since 2014, WA’s knockout cups have again acted as qualifiers for the Australia Cup, with WA represented by the two finalists.

Current champions: Stirling Macedonia, winning their 7th title in 2025. Most successful club: Perth SC (Azzurri, Italia) with 13 titles.
