People's Honour Award

People’s Honour Award (国民栄誉賞, Kokumin Eiyoshō) is a prize given by Japan’s Prime Minister to people who have achieved outstanding success in sports, entertainment, and other fields. It is open to non-Japanese as well. The award was created in 1977 by Prime Minister Takeo Fukuda.
