Pentre Gwynfryn is a village in Gwynedd, Wales, in the Ardudwy area. It is about one mile east of Llanbedr, where the River Artro and the River Cwmnantcol meet. The village has a chapel called Capel Salem. Inside the chapel, the scene Salem was painted in 1908 by Sydney Curnow Vosper, showing Siân Owen in traditional Welsh dress. In the painting, the folds of her cloak are said to form the face of the devil, and another devil-like face peeks through a window. The painting Salem is now in the Lady Lever Art Gallery on the Wirral, Port Sunlight.
