Paul McKercher is an Australian record producer, audio engineer, sound mixer and multi-instrumentalist from Hobart, Tasmania. He specializes in pop and rock, plays guitar and cello, and has been active since 1991. An advocate of analogue gear, he loves tape but also uses digital technologies. He has produced more than 50 albums and won five ARIA Artisan Awards.

Throughout his career he has worked with many Australian artists, including Josh Pyke, Bertie Blackman, Papa vs Pretty, Sarah Blasko, You Am I, Pete Murray, Motor Ace and Eskimo Joe.

McKercher began at Triple J, the national youth radio station, before spending seven years with ABC Radio. Since 1992 he has freelanced as a producer, engineer and mixer. Notable projects include recording Falling Joys' Aerial in 1993 at a Kangaroo Valley house using three eight-track machines, and in 1997 he worked at Woodstock Studios in Melbourne on the Jaynes' Dogbone EP (April 1998).

He has written for Audio Technology Magazine and was featured by Zolton Zavos in 2000 for his work at Megaphon Studios. He spoke at the Face the Music Conference in 2010. As of December 2016, he was teaching how to produce recordings at SAE Institute in Sydney, while continuing his production work. His website is paulmckercher.com.
