Belmond Hotel Rio Sagrado
Belmond Hotel Rio Sagrado is a luxury hotel in Peru’s Sacred Valley, about 46 km from Cusco. It sits along the Urubamba River near Ollantaytambo, close to Inca sites and a popular route to Machu Picchu. The resort has 11 suites, 10 rooms, and 2 villas, plus gardens with streams inspired by Inca water channels. It opened in April 2009 and was bought by Orient-Express Hotels in December of the same year. It was the Sacred Valley’s first hotel with a solar-heated swimming pool. In 2014 the company renamed itself Belmond Ltd and the hotel became Belmond Hotel Rio Sagrado. In 2020 Belmond announced the official reopening of this hotel along with Belmond Palacio Nazarenas.
