Pantip.com is a popular Thai-language discussion forum started on October 7, 1996 by Wanchat Padungrat. It is owned by Internet Marketing Co., Ltd and is still active. It is not affiliated with Pantip Plaza, despite the similar name, which in Thai means “a thousand tips.”

The site’s popular area is the Café, which has 20 discussion tables named after famous Thai places like Siam Square and Chatuchak Market. People discuss politics, religion, celebrities, education, movies, sports, and more. Pantip also offers features such as LiveChat, Pantip Market, PanTown, Game Room, E-Card, BlogGang, and Pantip Musicstation.

To keep discussions constructive, Pantip requires members to be accountable for what they post. Since 2004, new members must provide their Thai national ID or passport number to join. Some people worry about privacy, but Pantip says the measure improves discussion quality. If you don’t want to become a member, you can post with a temporary ticket-pass that only needs an email address, but you won’t get extra features.

In certain areas, like the Ratchadumnern table, posts must be made by logged-in members. The site has netiquette rules, and offensive posts can be reported to the webmaster and removed from public view or moved to a trash page where they can still be read and commented on.

Participants come from all walks of life, including Thai celebrities who publicly acknowledge their membership. Some posters gain fame or even land book deals, while others face problems such as plagiarism or scams. A well-known incident involved a teen posting a nude photo of a Thai actress; the community initially defended the poster, the actress faced backlash, and after an apology the case was resolved.

Pantip remains an active online community in Thailand.
