Panther Creek (Brush Creek tributary)

Content sourced from Wikipedia, licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0.

Panther Creek is a stream in southwest Missouri that runs through Polk, Hickory, and St. Clair counties. It is a tributary of Brush Creek. The headwaters are in northwest Polk County near Humansville, and the stream generally flows north-northeast, turning west of Flemington, then northwest into the southwest corner of Hickory County where it crosses Missouri Route 123. It then moves into St. Clair County, meanders back into Polk County, and then back into St. Clair County, passing under Route 13 before joining Brush Creek in southeast St. Clair County. Panther Creek was named because panthers were once common in the area.
