Bayless Conley
Bayless Conley is an American gospel pastor and television personality who hosts “Answers With Bayless Conley.” The show is a weekly program that airs on CNBC in Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East, and on other local channels elsewhere; in Mexico it broadcasts through Genesis Television. The program aims to teach the Bible in a practical, non-religious way.
Conley has spoken about his past as a drug addict and alcoholic, saying he found God more than 35 years ago after a 12-year-old Christian boy helped lead him to faith.
He founded Cottonwood Church. In the early 2000s, the church fought the city of Cypress over land taken by eminent domain. A federal court ruled that Cypress illegally used eminent domain. Cottonwood eventually sold its original 18 acres to the city and moved to a larger 28-acre site on land from a nearby defunct golf course; the new property ended up costing more than the original site.
In January 2014, Conley was hospitalized after a boating accident but recovered and returned to ministry.
