Kalinda Sharma is a fictional character from The Good Wife. She works as an investigator for the law firm Stern, Lockhart & Gardner (and is a key player in many cases). Archie Panjabi played her for the first six seasons. Kalinda first appears in the pilot on September 22, 2009, and her last appearance is May 10, 2015. The character was created by Robert and Michelle King. She is believed to be born around 1984.

Kalinda has a mysterious past. Before the show, she worked for State’s Attorney Peter Florrick for three years but was fired after Peter claimed she had two jobs. She becomes close friends with Alicia Florrick, Peter’s wife, though their friendship is strained when Alicia learns Kalinda had a one-night stand with Peter before they met. In season four, Kalinda reveals she has an abusive husband, Nick Saverese, and she also grows romantically closer to Cary Agos, one of her colleagues.

In season six, Kalinda goes to great lengths to help Cary avoid drug-related charges while Alicia runs for office. At one point, she fakes a Brady violation to get Cary’s charges dropped. After she turns over drug dealer Lemond Bishop to the state, to protect Diane Lockhart from prosecution, Kalinda fears for her safety and disappears.

Personality and style: Kalinda is calm, private, and incredibly capable, often using methods that aren’t strictly legal. She tends to work alone and doesn’t always get along with others, but she forms a protective, if unconventional, friendship with Alicia. She is bisexual and has relationships mostly with women, sometimes to help her cases, and she once said she prefers women because they understand her better.

Fashion is a big part of her character. Kalinda’s look is edgy and sometimes provocative for a lawyer. A signature piece is knee-high boots, though she also wears many leather jackets from high-end brands. The wardrobe plays a key role in grounding her character, and she is said to own around 60 leather jackets.
