Lagerstroemia calyculata is a flowering plant in the Lythraceae family. It is commonly called the Guava Crape Myrtle. Local names include Vietnamese Bằng Lăng Ổi and Bằng Lăng Cườm; Thai: tabaek; Cambodian: Srolao. The name comes from its distinctive mottled, flaky bark. It grows in Southeast Asia and Oceania as a medium-sized tree reaching about 10–20 meters tall. In Thailand it is a popular decorative tree in parks because of its pretty pink flower clusters. The wood has low commercial value, which has helped it stay in forests and it may make up more than 25% of trees in some logged areas, such as Cat Tien National Park.
