Afghan flying squirrel
The Afghan flying squirrel (Eoglaucomys fimbriatus baberi) is a subspecies of rodent in the squirrel family. It is endemic to Afghanistan. It is not endangered because it has a wide range, a large population, and its numbers are not dropping quickly. The main threats are selective logging, modernization, and hunting for fur. It has a generation time of about 4 to 5 years and can have up to two litters per year, usually giving birth to 2–4 young each litter. It lives in montane coniferous forests.
