Pakeha insignita is a small spider that lives only in Southland, New Zealand. It belongs to the Cycloctenidae family and was first described in 1973 by Ray Forster and Cecil Wilton from both female and male specimens. The holotype is kept at the Otago Museum. The female is about 6.1 mm long and the male about 4.7 mm. Its carapace is yellow-brown with black shading, the legs are banded, and the abdomen is mottled black. It is listed as Naturally Uncommon in New Zealand, with data-poor notes on its size and population trend.
