Piața Rosetti
Piața Rosetti is a small square in Sector 2, Bucharest, about 250 meters from Piața Universității. It sits at the crossroads of Carol I Boulevard and Hristo Botev Boulevard, with Tudor Arghezi Street, Vasile Lascăr Street, Dianei Street, and Radu Cristian Street also meeting there. The square is named after C. A. Rosetti, a former Bucharest mayor, Romanian statesman, and 1848 revolutionary. It was created in 1888 as part of modernization efforts led by ex-mayor Pache Protopopescu. A bronze statue of Rosetti by Wladimir Hegel was unveiled in 1903. The Astra building, a historic monument, is at the intersection of Carol I and Hristo Botev Boulevards and overlooks Piața Rosetti. Coordinates: 44°26′11″N 26°06′24″E.
