Out of Darkness (album)
Out of Darkness is the first studio album by the Christian metal band In the Midst of Lions. It was released on May 26, 2009, by Strike First Records. The album runs 24 minutes and 13 seconds and features seven tracks that mix Christian themes with metal and deathcore sounds.
Reception was generally positive. Jesus Freak Hideout gave it 3.5 stars, noting that even though the album is short, its seven songs give a clear sense of the band's musical and lyrical identity. Indie Vision Music awarded 4 stars, calling it one of the best praise-and-worship-based metal releases and saying the debut should bring wide recognition for both its music and its message.
Out of Darkness was followed by The Heart of Man in 2010.
