Steve Smith is an American politician from Arizona and a Republican. He served in the Arizona Senate for District 23 from 2011 to 2013 and for District 11 from 2015 to 2019, and in the Arizona House of Representatives for District 11 from 2013 to 2015. Born in Detroit, Michigan, he moved to Arizona in 2001 and earned a BA in marketing from Michigan State University. He is the Executive Director of the T. W. Lewis Foundation in Scottsdale, Arizona.

In elections, Smith won the District 23 Senate seat in 2010, defeating incumbent Rebecca Rios after winning the GOP primary. After redistricting, he won a seat in the Arizona House in 2012 (District 11) and then the Senate again in 2014 (District 11). In 2016, he was unopposed in the Republican primary and defeated Democrat Ralph Atchue in the general election.

He is married to Jamie, and they have five children; he is a Christian. His ratings include a 69% from the Goldwater Institute in 2013 and 95% from the American Conservative Union in 2017.
