Open Web Analytics (OWA) is an open-source web analytics program created by Peter Adams. It is written in PHP and uses a MySQL database, so it can run on many web servers as part of a typical AMP stack.

OWA is similar to Google Analytics, but it is self-hosted software: you install and run it on your own server rather than using Google’s cloud service. This gives you control over your data and how it’s stored.

OWA supports tracking for popular platforms like WordPress and MediaWiki, helping webmasters monitor how many people visit their sites. It can also be used to compare your site’s performance with competitors.

The project has a stable release, currently 1.7.8 (as of January 7, 2023). The code is hosted on GitHub at Open-Web-Analytics/Open-Web-Analytics and is released under the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 2. The official website is www.openwebanalytics.com.
