Ohio Wisler Mennonite
Ohio Wisler Mennonite Churches, also known as the Ohio Wisler Mennonite Conference, began in 1973. They come from the Mennonite tradition but are not Old Order; they are generally viewed as Conservative Mennonites, with some scholars calling them Ultra Conservative.
In 1973 a large group of Wisler Mennonites in Ohio left the Ohio-Indiana Mennonite Conference, an Old Order group that drives cars, and formed the Ohio Wisler Mennonites. After the split, they adopted Sunday Schools, increased outreach, and changed worship away from Old Order practices.
By 1995 they had 131 households in four congregations. In 2000 they had about 421 adherents, with a total population of around 800 people in five congregations, all in Ohio. In 2018 the Mennonite World Conference listed 322 adherents in four congregations.
