Turning for Home
Turning for Home is the debut studio album by American country singer Mike Reid. It was released on February 2, 1991, by Columbia Records and recorded in 1990. The album runs about 37 minutes and 38 seconds and was produced by Steve Buckingham and Reid. It includes the number-one hit "Walk on Faith" and four other singles, three of which reached the country top twenty. Turning for Home peaked at number 22 on the Country Albums chart.
critics were mixed but generally positive. Entertainment Weekly’s Alanna Nash called it one of the year's best surprises, praising Reid’s songwriting and honest vocal delivery. People magazine said the songs are well-crafted and smooth, with standout tracks like the upbeat "I’ll Stop Loving You," though it suggested the album doesn’t always showcase Reid’s vocal charisma. In a later AllMusic retrospective, Thom Owens called Turning for Home Reid’s most consistent release, noting that he sings his well-made songs with genuine feeling. Track information and credits come from the album’s liner notes.
