Maputo Post Office Building, also known as Edifício dos Correios de Maputo, is the headquarters of Correios de Moçambique, the Mozambican postal service. It is located on 25 de Setembro Avenue in Maputo and opened in 1903. The building was designed and built by architect Carlos Rome Machado. From 1903 until 1975, the Portuguese State Post (CTT Correios de Portugal) housed both post and telecommunications there. After Mozambique’s independence, the building has housed the state postal company. Because postal services are limited, parts of the customer counter are also used by the government waterworks and Bank BCI.
