Next Luxembourg general election

Next Luxembourg general election is expected to be held by 8 October 2028. It will elect all 60 seats in the Chamber of Deputies. A majority requires 31 seats.

How it works
- The 60 deputies are elected by proportional representation in four constituencies: North (9 seats), East (7), South (23), Centre (21).
- Voters can vote for a party list or cast multiple votes for individual candidates.
- Seats are allocated using the Hagenbach-Bischoff quota.

Who can vote
- Only Luxembourgish citizens may vote in general elections.
- Voting is mandatory for eligible residents in Luxembourg under 75 who live there.
- Luxembourgish citizens living abroad may vote by post at the commune where they last lived in Luxembourg.
- If you were born in Luxembourg but never lived there, you may vote by post at your birthplace commune.
- If you were not born in Luxembourg and have never lived there, you may vote by post at the commune of Luxembourg City.
