Cornersville is a small town in Marshall County, in the United States. It covers about 2 square miles of land. The town sits where U.S. Route 31 meets Tennessee State Route 129, southwest of Lewisburg and northeast of Pulaski. Interstate 65 runs just to the west. The coordinates are roughly 35.358°N, 86.842°W, and the elevation is about 883 feet.
Population and households
As of the 2020 census, Cornersville had 1,228 residents, 496 households, and 354 families. In 2020, the racial makeup was about 90% White, 2.5% Black or African American, 0.2% Asian, 4.8% Other or Mixed, and about 2% Hispanic or Latino. There is a local radio station, WZTN 89.9 FM.
History
Cornersville was incorporated on January 7, 1830. It was originally named Marathon because of its location near the corner where Giles, Maury, Bedford, and Lincoln counties met. It was part of Giles County at incorporation, but since 1870 it has been in Marshall County.
Education and features
The town is home to Cornersville High School. A notable landmark is the Cornersville Town Hall.
