Nebria nivalis

Nebria nivalis is a ground beetle in the Nebriinae subfamily. It mainly lives in Scandinavia and northern Russia. It is rare in the British Isles, found only in a few upland spots in North Wales, northern England, Scotland, and western Ireland. In Scandinavia, it stays close to snowfields. In the Scottish Cairngorms, it has been seen foraging on snow, mostly at night. Scientific name: Nebria nivalis (Paykull, 1790).
