Nationalist Union of the People (UNP) was a right-wing, pro-military electoral alliance in Bolivia. It formed in January 1978. Its presidential candidate was Juan Pereda Asbún (an independent) and its vice-presidential candidate was Alfredo Franco Guachalla (from the MNR). After Pereda seized power in July 1978, leaders of the UNP served in his cabinet. When Pereda dismissed his ministers to form a majority military cabinet, the UNP dissolved.
