Natascha Kohnen (born 27 October 1967 in Munich) is a German politician with the SPD. She has been a member of the Bavarian state parliament since October 2008 and led the SPD in Bavaria from 2017 to 2021.

Kohnen has held several party roles: Secretary General of the SPD in Bavaria (2009–2017); Deputy Leader of the SPD at the national level (2017–2019); and chairwoman of the Bavarian SPD from 2017, winning 88.3% of votes. She also chaired the Neubiberg branch (2003–2009) and was active in the Munich district leadership.

In the Landtag, she has worked on environment, health and economic affairs, and served as deputy leader of the SPD group (2011–2013). In 2017 she helped with federal coalition talks, co-chairing the urban development working group.

Kohnen grew up in Munich’s Maxvorstadt. She finished high school in 1987 and studied biology at the University of Regensburg (1987–1992). From 1994 to 2002 she worked as a freelance science editor and lived in Paris for two years. Since 2001 she has run her own editorial office with freelancers. She has two children.
