Nacho Alvarez Jr. is an American professional baseball infielder for the Atlanta Braves. Born on April 11, 2003, in Fontana, California, he bats and throws right-handed.

Alvarez attended Kaiser High School in Fontana and played college baseball at Riverside City College. He was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the fifth round of the 2022 MLB draft, 155th overall. He began his pro career that year with the rookie-level Florida Complex League Braves and Single-A Augusta GreenJackets. In 2023 he played for the High-A Rome Braves, appearing in 116 games and posting a line of .284/.395/.391 with seven home runs, 66 RBIs, and 16 stolen bases.

The 2024 season saw Alvarez start with the Double-A Mississippi Braves before earning a promotion to Triple-A Gwinnett Stripers. On July 22, 2024, he was added to the Braves’ 40-man roster and promoted to the major leagues for the first time. He did not record a hit in his major league debut, and over eight rookie games he went 3-for-30, for a .100 batting average.

In 2025, Alvarez began the season on the injured list with left wrist inflammation and was moved to the 60-day injured list on April 23. He was activated on June 16 and optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett. After Austin Riley went on the 10-day injured list, Alvarez was called back up to the majors. On September 20, he hit his first major league home run, and he later hit two homers in a win against the Detroit Tigers.

Through the 2025 season, Alvarez has a .216 career MLB batting average with 2 home runs and 15 runs batted in.
