Mount Wilson Wilderness
Mount Wilson Wilderness is a 23,900-acre protected area in Mohave County, Arizona, part of the Black Mountains. It borders Lake Mead National Recreation Area and sits about 19 miles south of the Hoover Dam. The wilderness is reachable by dirt roads from Temple Bar Road and is managed by the Bureau of Land Management’s Kingman Field Office. The land includes Wilson Ridge and Mount Wilson, which rises to 5,445 feet. It features steep 3,000-foot cliffs, a mix of desert plants and animals, and offers views of Lake Mead, the surrounding badlands, and the mountains.
