Men's individual golf at the 1904 Summer Olympics

The event was held September 19–24, 1904, at Glen Echo Country Club, about 6 kilometers north of the Olympic Stadium near St. Louis. 75 golfers from two nations competed.

Format
- The competition began with two rounds of 18 holes (a 36-hole qualifying round) on September 19 to determine the top 32 players.
- The top 32 then played five rounds of 36-hole match play on the following days, meaning the finalists played six straight days of 36-hole golf.
- No bronze medal match was played; both semifinal losers received bronze medals.

Medalists
- Gold: George Lyon (Canada)
- Silver: Chandler Egan (United States)
- Bronze: Burt McKinnie (United States)
- Bronze: Francis Newton (United States)

Overview
George Lyon of Canada won the gold by defeating Chandler Egan of the United States in the final. Burt McKinnie and Francis Newton, both Americans, were the semifinalists and received bronze medals. This was the second Olympic golf tournament. The event used a more complex format than the 1900 Games, introducing a qualifying round followed by match play. Golf would not return to the Olympics again until 2016. Canada made its debut in Olympic golf at these Games.
