Miserable Miracle is a 2023 animated short film directed by Ryo Orikasa. It’s a collaboration between the National Film Board of Canada, Miyu Productions (France), and New Deer (Japan). The film uses abstract animation based on Henri Michaux’s poetry, turning his words into shapes and human-like figures to explore sound and meaning.

The English narration is by Tony Robinow, and the French narration is by Denis Lavant. A Japanese-language version is planned for 2024.
