Meta Hacker Cup, previously known as the Facebook Hacker Cup, is an annual international programming competition run by Meta Platforms. It started in 2011 to identify top engineering talent for Meta. The contest presents algorithmic problems to solve within a fixed time, and competitors may use any programming language and development environment. It is part of a worldwide circuit that also includes Google Code Jam, Topcoder Open, and the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest, and it has been covered by Bloomberg and Stack Overflow. The latest edition ran from September 22 to December 9, 2023, with about 20,234 participants. The winner receives $20,000, with smaller prizes for runners-up.
