Tormented is a 2009 British black comedy horror film directed by Jon Wright and written by Stephen Prentice. It stars Alex Pettyfer, April Pearson, Dimitri Leonidas, Calvin Dean and Tuppence Middleton. The story follows a group of high school students who are stalked and killed by the ghost of a bullied classmate, Darren Mullet.

Plot
After Darren Mullet is bullied by the popular crowd, he dies by suicide. His ghost returns to haunt and kill those involved. Justine Fielding, the head girl, and others confront the truth about the bullying. As the supernatural deaths mount, Justine tries to survive, uncover who was responsible, and stop the killer. In the end, the ghost is defeated, but Justine is arrested for the murders that the ghost carried out.

Production and release
The film had a budget of about £703,000 and was shot in the West Midlands, England, in January 2009. It premiered in London on May 19, 2009 and was released in the United Kingdom on May 22, 2009. The US release was handled by Paramount Vantage/IFC, with on-demand release in late October 2009. Tormented received mixed reviews. It has about a 69% score on Rotten Tomatoes from 27 reviews, with critics noting its timely themes and humor alongside familiar slasher elements. It was described by Total Film as a “slasher for the Skins generation,” and Empire and Sky Movies gave it positive notices.
