C. L. John (born 1966) is an Indian politician from Nagaland. He has been elected four times as the Member of the Legislative Assembly from Tehok in Mon District, a seat reserved for Scheduled Tribes. In 2023, he won the Nagaland Legislative Assembly election as a candidate of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) and serves as the minister of environment, forests and climate change.

John is from Tehok, Mon District, and is the son of Cheno Konyak. He completed Class 8 at Government High School, Mon, and passed the Nagaland Board of School Education exams in 1985. His wife worked in the government education department and has retired.

Election history: He first won in 2008 from Tehok as an Naga People's Front (NPF) candidate, polling 7,829 votes and defeating Shaboh of the Congress by 1,403. He retained Tehok in 2013 for NPF, defeating W. Wongyuh Konyak of Congress by 7,891. He won again in 2018 from Tehok, defeating C. Kawang Konyak of BJP by 4,556. Later, he shifted to NDPP and won the 2023 Assembly election from Tehok, with 9,232 votes, defeating C. Kawang Konyak of NPF by 7,070.

He joined NPF when it merged with NDPP.
