Matamata College is a co‑educational state secondary school in Matamata, New Zealand. It serves students from Year 9 to Year 13. The motto is “Quality Education for All.” The principal is Angela Sharples. The college opened in 1924.

In 2012, a student was killed by a train after running from trees near the tracks outside the school. In March 2025, a 13‑year‑old girl, Sarie Morton, was struck by a train after class. The Matamata‑Piako mayor, Adrienne Wilcock, said authorities were looking at safety measures like trackside fences or barriers.
