Pierre Jerksten, also known as Hertz, is a Swedish DJ and radio host born September 20, 1972, in Tynnered, Gothenburg. He started DJing in 1989 in Gothenburg and rose to fame in Sweden after competing in the DMC DJ Championship, finishing second in Sweden and Europe, then winning Sweden’s championship and placing fifth in the world final the next year.

In the 1990s he produced and remixed for many artists on more than 200 records, including Dr Alban, E-Type, Eric Gadd, Meja, Emilia, Adolphson & Falk, Melodie MC with Jocelyn Brown, Fatima Rainey, Clubland, Alexia & Tellus. He was nominated in 1996 for Swedish producer, remixer, and best Swedish House/Techno Artist by the Swedish Dance Music Awards.

From 1996 he hosted weekly radio shows on P3 (Swedish National Radio), including P3 Mix, P3 Remix, P3 Klubb, and P3 Dans, until 2011. He also wrote music for SVT programs such as Fotbollskväll, Hockeykväll, Packat & Klart, and Trafikmagasinet.

In the 2000s he focused on running his own labels, Sway, Q-Records, Abyss Records, Atom, M4M, Hz Trax, and his Hertz alias. He has released on labels like Defected, Toolroom, Underwater, Drumcode, Recycled Loops, Craft, Tresor, Virgin, and Universal. He has performed at clubs and festivals across Europe, including Dance Valley, Awakenings, Fabrik, Florida 135, Le Zenith, and The Matrixx.
