Salt Rock Township is a civil township in Marion County, Ohio, United States. The 2020 census recorded a total population of 605, with 373 residents living in the village of Morral.

Geography
Salt Rock Township sits in the northern part of Marion County. It borders Pitt Township (Wyandot County) to the north, Antrim Township (Wyandot County) at the northeast corner, Grand Prairie Township to the east, Marion Township to the southeast, Big Island Township to the south, Montgomery Township to the southwest, Grand Township to the west, and Marseilles Township (Wyandot County) to the northwest. The village of Morral is located in the northeastern part of the township. The area covers 24.6 square miles, all land, with an elevation of about 912 feet. Its coordinates are approximately 40.68639°N, 83.22500°W.

Name
Salt Rock Township is the only Salt Rock Township in Ohio.

Government
The township is governed by a three-member board of trustees. Trustees are elected to four-year terms. Two trustees are elected in the year after the presidential election, and one is elected in the year before it. There is also an elected township fiscal officer with a four-year term starting on April 1 following the election. If vacancies occur, the remaining trustees fill them.

Notable residents
John Purdue (1802–1876) was born nearby. He became a famous industrialist based in Lafayette, Indiana, and was the primary original benefactor of Purdue University.
