Mass media in the Bismarck metropolitan area

The Bismarck Tribune is the city’s only daily newspaper. It began in 1873 and is the oldest continuing business in Bismarck. The Tribune is the official newspaper for Bismarck, Burleigh County, and the state of North Dakota. Other North Dakota daily papers are also sold at area newsstands.

Bismarck has five TV stations. All of them have rebroadcasters in Minot, Williston, and Dickinson. There are also locally produced cable TV stations carried on the Midcontinent Communications system.

Bismarck is home to many radio stations. Most commercial stations are owned by Clear Channel Communications or Townsquare Media. Many of the lower-frequency stations broadcast national Christian networks.
