1994 Miami Hurricanes football team
The 1994 Miami Hurricanes represented the University of Miami during the 1994 NCAA Division I-A football season. It was their 69th season of football and fourth in the Big East Conference. Led by head coach Dennis Erickson in his sixth year, they played their home games at the Orange Bowl. The Hurricanes finished 10–2 overall and 7–0 in the Big East, making them conference champions. They were invited to the Orange Bowl, which served as the Bowl Coalition national championship game, where they lost to Nebraska 24–17. The loss ended Miami’s 58-game home winning streak at the Orange Bowl, and the game is sometimes remembered as the "Whammy in Miami."
