Marmaroplegma paragarda
Marmaroplegma paragarda, the speared monkey, is a moth in the Eupterotidae family. It was described by Wallengren in 1860 and is found in South Africa and Zimbabwe. Taxonomy: Kingdom Animalia; Phylum Arthropoda; Class Insecta; Order Lepidoptera; Family Eupterotidae; Genus Marmaroplegma; Species paragarda. It has also been named Rabdosia clio. The forewings are pale ochre-brown with a broad dark band across the middle. The wing veins are whitish and outlined by small black speckles. Along the edge there are pale wedge-shaped markings that reach the wing margin. The hindwings have similar, but paler and less distinct, wedge marks.
