Maria Scutti (August 1928 – 2005) was an Italian Paralympic athlete known as the "golden woman" for her extraordinary achievements. She was born in Altino, Abruzzo. In 1957, after a road accident left her unable to use her legs, she began rehabilitation and discovered sports in 1958.

She competed at the 1960 Summer Paralympics in Rome. Scutti entered 11 throwing events in athletics, winning 9 of them and finishing third in the other two. She also earned a gold medal in swimming for the 50-meter breaststroke and a silver in the 50-meter backstroke. She won silver medals in wheelchair fencing and in table tennis as well. In total at Rome she collected 15 Paralympic medals: 10 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze, making her one of the most successful athletes at a single Games.

She retired from sport in 1962. Maria Scutti died in 2005 at the age of 76 or 77.
