André Ventura Sousa
André Miguel do Vale Ventura de Sousa, born April 14, 2000, is a Portuguese chess player. He earned the International Master title in 2017. Sousa has won the Portuguese Chess Championship five times: 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. He played in the 2021 Chess World Cup in Sochi, losing in the first round to Pavel Ponkratov. He has represented Portugal in the Chess Olympiads. His current FIDE rating is 2445 (February 2026), with a peak rating of 2472 in May 2023.
