Mamirolle is a small commune in eastern France, in the Doubs department of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. It is about 14 kilometers southeast of Besançon, on the first plateau of the Jura mountains. The village sits in a wide basin with no surface water drainage, so rain soaks into the ground. Most land is used for farms and meadows, with some forests. The southern part climbs to the Mont Bon ridge, the highest point in the area at about 662 meters. The Besançon–Le Locle railway passes through Mamirolle.

Archaeologists have found signs of very early settlement near Mamirolle, including a Hallstatt-period tumulus and traces of a Gallo-Roman site. The village is first mentioned in 1220 as a church named Mamirollis and later appeared with several spellings. It became part of France in 1678 after the Nijmegen treaties. Mamirolle has suffered major fires in 1709, 1825 and 1893. The Saint-Pierre parish church was rebuilt in 1775 and restored in 1985.

Historically, farming and forestry were the main activities. Since the 1970s, new commercial zones have appeared on the village’s outskirts. Today, Mamirolle hosts companies in food processing, construction, micro-mechanics and electronics, and the area is largely a residential community.

Mamirolle is part of Grand Besançon Métropole, in the Besançon arrondissement and Besançon-5 canton. The mayor for 2025–2026 is Daniel Huot. On 1 January 2025, the former commune Le Gratteris joined Mamirolle. The commune covers about 114.5 square kilometers and had about 1,988 residents in 2023.
