Lebanon Countryside Trail
Lebanon Countryside Trail
The Lebanon Countryside Trail is a paved rail trail in Warren County, Ohio. It’s about 10.2 miles long (16.4 km) and runs from Miller Road in the north to the Little Miami Scenic Trail near Middletown Junction in the south. The trail opened in 2005 and has been extended several times, with new sections added in 2019, 2021, 2022 and plans for 2024–2025. It’s mainly used for biking and walking.
The trail connects Lebanon to the Little Miami Scenic Trail and to the Mason Lebanon Bike Connector, forming part of the Miami-2-Miami trail system. It has a gentle overall grade but includes two steeper sections (about 8–10% for roughly a quarter mile) near Kingsview Drive and Deerfield Road. Elevation ranges from about 627 ft (191 m) to 886 ft (270 m), with a total gain of about 257 ft (78 m). The main parking is at the Cincinnati Railway Company station in Lebanon, near the Golden Lamb Inn.
The route travels through parks and along roads, including a section alongside SR 48. It crosses an old railroad bridge over the Little Miami River, then climbs Kingsview Drive and continues north toward downtown Lebanon. The southern portion follows the old Middletown and Cincinnati Railroad right‑of‑way and passes behind residential areas and the Countryside YMCA before joining a two‑way bike lane along SR 48 to Miller Road. In 2022, the trail extended south to E Turtlecreek Union Road to reach a housing development and the Premier Health Mountain Bike Park. A planned 2025 extension will run east from SR 48 along Monroe Road, cross SR 123, and connect to the current Lebanon trail near Harmon Disc Golf Course.
