Mambu (company)
Mambu is a private fintech software company. It was founded in 2011 in Berlin by Frederik Pfisterer, Eugene Danilkis, and Sofia Nunes and is now headquartered in Amsterdam, serving customers around the world. Mambu provides banking software as a service (SaaS) to help banks and financial service providers build and run their products.
The company started with a platform for microloans and now works with neobanks like N26 and Solarisbank, as well as established lenders such as Banco Santander and Check24. By early 2021, Mambu had about 170 customers in 50 countries, and most of its revenue comes from outside Germany. Early backers included Commerzbank and Berlin-based investor Point Nine. N26 became a customer in 2016, and Solarisbank also uses Mambu’s software.
In June 2021, Mambu raised around €200 million in a funding round led by EQT AB, valuing the company at about $5.3 billion (making it a unicorn). Contracted annual recurring revenue was about $165 million for 2022. In 2020, Mambu partnered with C24 Bank to launch a greenfield digital retail bank, and in June 2023, they extended that partnership.
